Assalam alaikum wa rahmatullah,

Dear brothers and sisters in MAS,

We launched GrowMamaGrow, an online community for Muslim mothers, about six months ago. The project is sponsored by MAS Maryland. We have more than 130 members on the discussion forum and many more observers. The blog provides down-to-earth reflections on motherhood and spirituality and attracts even more readers and has been featured on several Muslim sites.

Many young mothers in the Muslim community are starting new families with little extended family support, knowing they need to do something different but lack tools and direction. One of the primary goals of GrowMamaGrow is to provide support for stay-at-home Muslim mothers raising their children and to help create a strong, vibrant culture of Muslim motherhood in the United States.

We strongly encourage all chapters and MAS members to see this as your project. Please adopt it as your MAS NY/Boston/Houston/ Bay Area/DC, etc. project, post the attached banner and link on your websites, send our e-flyers to your communities and your friends. We are currently only engaging in online advertising because of lack of funding. The benefit and credit will all go to your chapter! We want to reach out to more women from different backgrounds and encourage more viewpoints and discussion.
